Lira’s Homecoming to Headline the 10th Business Premium Jazz Festival in Ekurhuleni – A Heritage Day Celebration Like No Other
Ekurhuleni, South Africa – 24 September 2025
Thikho Events proudly presents the 10th edition of the Business Premium Jazz Festival, themed “Lira’s Homecoming: A Heritage Celebration”, set to take place on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, in Ekurhuleni. This year’s festival not only commemorates a decade of world-class musical excellence but also aligns with South Africa’s Heritage Day, bringing a vibrant celebration of culture, tradition, and unity.
This iconic edition marks the emotional return of Lira, one of Ekurhuleni’s most beloved daughters, to the stage after her journey of healing and renewal. She will be joined by acclaimed artists Amanda Black and Thandiswa Mazwai, in a line-up that promises a soul-stirring fusion of jazz, afro-soul, and traditional African music.
🇿🇦 A Tribute to South African Heritage
Held on National Heritage Day, the festival will be a full-scale celebration of South Africa’s rich and diverse cultures. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in traditional attire, representing the beauty of our ethnic diversity, from isiXhosa to Venda, Sotho, Zulu, Tswana, Tsonga, and more.
The event will also feature:
Traditional South African Cuisine: A curated food village offering local favorites such as chakalaka, mogodu, pap & vleis, dombolo, bunny chow, and umqombothi.
Cultural Showcases: Live storytelling, traditional praise poetry (imbongi), dance troupes, and drumming circles.
Artisan Stalls: Locally crafted beadwork, garments, and traditional artifacts on sale.
More Than a Concert – A Cultural Movement
Now in its 10th year, the Business Premium Jazz Festival has become a key player in the South African arts scene, offering a rare blend of luxurious entertainment and cultural depth. From showcasing South Africa’s greatest voices to building platforms for emerging talent, the festival continues to inspire connection between music, business, and community.
This year’s edition underscores the power of homegrown talent, cultural pride, and economic impact, as the City of Ekurhuleni welcomes thousands to its doorstep for a celebration that will be felt across the country.
