A long anticipated Cape Town Valentine’s is finally here. Thikho Events is proud to announce Friday 18th comedy line-up.
Leading the pack is a veteran comedian Kedibone Mulaudzi. With over 13 years of comedy experience as a comedian it comes as no surprise that Kedibone is in constant demand as both a headline act and MC across the national comedy circuit. And him being part of the same line up with Chris Rock when he was in the country cemented that. His mother calls him the funniest comedian on earth (well, why are we not surprised, she also thinks he is the best singer in the world), the corporate clients he has performed for call him a comedy genius that always tears the roof off with his witty and hilarious yet relevant punch lines.
Kedibone’s international appearances includes performances in Korea (South that is), South Bank Arts Centre London-UK, Atlanta, Tanzania, Zambia, Nigeria, Kenya, Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana. The one thing that sets Kedibone apart from his peers is that he writes his sets for international audiences, his jokes are funny in South Africa and anywhere else in the word. His topics are based on everyday life, childhood upbringing, observations and international current affairs and a bit of subjects that people do talk about and also those that they don’t talk about, but wait for comedians to do comedy about. Kedibone is the guy next door, the comedians’ comic, the class clown that grew up to do just that. With a handful of standing ovations and encores performances for all South African State Presidents (Dr Nelson Mandela, MrThabo Mbeki and President Jacob Zuma) and two Nobel Peace Prize winners (Dr Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu) there is no doubt that Kedibone Mulaudzi is one of the few top South African comedians that delivers, unlike most politicians. Kedibone is destined for greater things and landmarks in the world of standup comedy.
Another comedian on the lineup is Elton Mdu Ntuli. Straight from Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga, this multiple awards winning comedian has laughter as something he always enjoyed seeing people experience, from a very young age I would entertain
family, neighbors and strangers and the thrill of their laughter made me feel complete.
Elton Mduduzi’s passion for comedy was an instinct one cannot overlook, a natural interest influenced by comedians such as Trevor Noah, Kagiso Lediga, Mashabela Galane, David Kau including Eugene Khoza and Sifiso Nene. Elton Mduduzi has been able to build his own brand and character amongst such strong Comedians.
Elton Mduduzi is a self-enabled entrepreneur, self-disciplined and motivated with the guidance of my acquaintances whom I share the entertainment industry with.
Ever busy Isaac Gampu does not need and introduction. Isaac Gampu is a well-known stand-up comedian who has shared the stage with some big names. He headlined the Blacks Only Comedy Show that was held at the Sandton Convention Centre alongside Marc Lottering. The event was hosted by David Kau.
It all began on air with Y-FM in which the comedian was an undisputed comedy champ for a year and was automatically the co-host on Light it Up with Chubster on Saturday and Sunday nights from 9 to midnight. Comedy came to him in a dare, and it began in a club gig in Vosloorus at Spiros Café. It was a five minute debut that resulted in him being an anchor of Thursday shows. This led him to meet experienced comedians and being Voslooâs comedy export to clubs like Caprivi Tembisa, Djembe in Meropa Polokwane, Ragging Bull and Cofi. In Witbank he did Cappello and a regular favourite at Cappello Mbombela. Talamanca in East London, Carnival in Brakpan with Jon Vlismas and Mark Banks, Set and Mi Bar in Rosebank, Europa in Pretoria, The Ozone in Soweto, Silver Lakes in Springs and a number of club gigs, which polished and shaped this Ekurhuleni specifically Vosloorican Comedian.
Headlining The Blacks Only Comedy Show was like a milestone for Isaac, as he had his Blacks debut a year prior at the Emperors Palace, which followed another show at Carnival City in October 2012. That was his third one within a year.
Isaac is a multilingual favourite, especially on the coast for doing multiple shows with the 99% Zulu Comedy Shows. He also sold out at the Lyrical Theatre in Feb 2013. Isaacâs first paying opening was in Durban in November 2012. It was an excellent debut that resulted in several media reviews.
Some very big achievements include being on Gospel Time, one of the Big 5 TV shows in South Africa, with other comedians, as well as hosted DR Rebecca Malopeâs birthday as the Master of Ceremonies.
Cape Town Valentine’s Getaway remains the undisputed champion of exclusive events in 2022 entertainment calendar. Do not miss out!
